Nightly programs in the pavilion begin between 7:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., and conclude with a nightly movie that begins at 9:00 p.m. Evening programming in AOPA Pavilion is the perfect spot to relax and wind down with friends after a long day on the flight line and browsing the exhibits. And, it’s all included in your admission!

Tuesday – April 21       8:00 p.m.

John and Martha King, along with Patti Wagstaff and Miles O’Brien present: “Over Africa” Low and Slow with the Kenya Wildlife Service

They are risky missions with an important purpose. The brave, committed game wardens who fly for the Kenya Wildlife Service routinely fly low and slow in small single engine airplanes over the spectacular parks of Kenya to protect their endangered inhabitants from the threat of poachers and human encroachment.

Patty Wagstaff, along with John and Martha King travelled to Africa to train these amazing game wardens pilots with funding provided by the Lindbergh Foundation. CNN correspondent and now freelance producer/director/reporter Miles O'Brien (himself a Lindbergh Board member) and his wife Sandy documented this remarkable mission every step of the way.

"Charles Lindbergh is up there somewhere smiling on this project," said Lindbergh Foundation President Knox Bridges.

"Over Africa!" is a wild, fun ride - with a serious purpose - filled with some larger than life characters who, in their own small way, are helping save the planet.

Wednesday – April 22              8:00 p.m.

Brig. Gen. Dan Cherry (USAF, Ret.) and Nguyen Hong My Present
“An Unlikely Reunion – Reconciliation in Vietnam”

“On April 16, 1972, Dan Cherry first met Hong My at 15,000 feet in the skies near Hanoi, North Vietnam as enemies.  In an intense 5 minute Aerial Battle, Major Dan Cherry shot down the Soviet-built MiG-21 piloted by the skilled Lieutenant Nguyen Hong My.  Thirty-six years later Dan Cherry and Hong My met again in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam on live television. It was the first time time they had met since that fateful day. This time they met as friends”. (From “An Unlikely Reunion – Reconciliation in Vietnam” by Dan Cherry and photographer John Fleck)

This is one program you don’t want to miss! Their remarkable story of survival, reunion, and unlikely friendship comes alive as they talk about their respective experiences as fighter pilots – one American – the other Vietnamese - during the Vietnam War. Brig. General Cherry (USAF, Ret.) and Nguyen Hong My will each travel to Sun ’n Fun from their homes in Kentucky and Vietnam – to reunite and share their experiences with Sun ’n Fun guests. Come early for the best seats!
